Stuart Tubis is a civil litigator representing clients in a wide range of matters, particularly Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Unruh Civil Rights Act claims. Stuart also practices in the privacy and cybersecurity space. He counsels businesses on compliance and represents their interests in civil litigation in both state and federal court as well as Department of Justice investigations. Stuart has a background in technology, which helps in the growing area of website accessibility and online privacy. His experience extends to all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, negotiations, arbitration, trial advocacy, settlement and alternative dispute resolution.
Stuart recently defended Marriott in a lawsuit brought by a serial ADA plaintiff. The plaintiff had filed hundreds of similar lawsuits against hotels and other businesses; Stuart filed a motion for judgement on the pleadings showing that the hotel's reservation system was compliant with the ADA and that the plaintiff's claims lacked merit. The court sided with Marriott and granted the motion, dismissing the lawsuit in its entirety.
Stuart is a California native who can be found hiking, playing chess, or planning his next outdoor adventure.
