Robert Braun is a transactional partner in JMBM's Corporate and Securities groups. He co-chairs the Firm's Cybersecurity and Privacy Group, and is an expert in technology and emerging industries, privacy, security and hospitality.
As Co-Chair of the JMBM Cybersecurity and Privacy Group, Bob counsels clients on privacy and security, information technology, software development and licensing, and electronic commerce transactions. He regularly handles privacy compliance programs, and compliance with the recently adopted state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, and laws adopted in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington. He is the co-author of the Cybersecurity Lawyer Forum blog, lectures frequently on technology issues, and has been quoted by Reuters, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, American Lawyer, American Banker, Law360, Los Angeles Business Journal, Daily Journal, and other media on cybersecurity law issues. He is recognized in the Southern California listing of Super Lawyers as a “Top Rated Technology Transactions Attorney.”
Bob is a senior member of JMBM's Global Hospitality Group, where he specializes in the negotiation of hotel management and franchise agreements, mixed-use developments, acquisition and divestiture of hotels, resorts, restaurants and other hospitality properties, hotel and hospitality workouts and turnarounds, and ongoing operating issues of hospitality properties. Bob is a frequent author and lecturer on hospitality issues.
