Joel Deutsch's practice, spanning over 30 years, emphasizes real estate, construction, and land use litigation (including disputes over land use entitlements, development agreements, construction issues, inverse condemnation, eminent domain, environmental litigation, commercial lease disputes, and other real property-related disputes) as well as intellectual property litigation, including trademark, copyright, and patent litigation. Joel also has extensive trial experience in federal and state courts. He is the Chair of JMBM’s Commercial Lease Litigation Group.

- Successfully represented numerous major corporate landowners in development entitlement disputes, which have resulted in court decisions and settlements granting development rights worth over several hundred million dollars
- Represents numerous mining and construction companies in land use and entitlement issues before state and local public agencies
- Represents numerous major corporate entities against intellectual property claims, including trademark, copyright, and patent defense work in federal courts across the United States
- Extensive experience in enforcement of trademarks and copyrights against infringers of those rights
