Ha Chung is an associate in the Government, Land Use, Environment & Energy Group. He advises clients on land use, development, water resources, and environmental regulatory compliance matters.
Mr. Chung received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. While in law school, he served as a senior submissions editor on the Southern California Law Review. Mr. Chung authored a student note discussing the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) that was published in the Southern California Law Review. While in law school, Mr. Chung served as a legal intern for the County of Los Angeles’ Office of the County Counsel, where he handled CEQA documents such as environmental impact reports for various projects.
Prior to law school, Mr. Chung spent three years as an air quality, climate, and acoustics technical analyst for an environmental consulting firm. He was responsible for drafting and editing air quality, greenhouse gas, and noise technical reports for CEQA documents for high-profile mixed-use, airport, hospital, remediation, and community development projects. He also performed complex technical analysis under various South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) rules and regulations and local noise ordinances.
Mr. Chung received his B.S. in environmental science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). During his time at UCLA, he served as an intern for SCQMD and the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board, where he gained first-hand familiarity with various agency procedures and regulations.
